Should i get USD converted to PESO before going to mexico?

Me and the wife are headin to mexico, wondering if i should get all pesos or just use USD down there. Which is the better option? Thanks for your time and input.|||The best thing to do is use your ATM card and get out only the pesos you plan to use for the day. U.S. dollars are accepted everywhere but the exchange rate might very from store to store. Big name stores have to right computer systems to do the exchange rate correctly, but the small mom and pop stores are a different story.|||All around Mexico, the people who live there and are selling things will take US Dollars. Actually, they like it when people pay in USD. About 1 USD is 12.1890 pesos. I would try to make sure they are selling it to you for the right price. Some will charge extra, so make sure you check the amount! Most are happy to lower the price if that means they get business. In case, you could bring Pesos, but me and my family have always gone to Mexico and have just used USD.|||These days you will lose money and be paying for a dying service. There are ATMs all over Mexico now and are at all international airports.


The last time I wanted to change some dollars at an airport before departing for Mexico, I thought the person should have been wearing a mask.

Of course some prefer the US buck because they can make a few more Pesos at the bank.


Pesos , as you know , is the legal tender in Mexico as the US dollar is in America.


Does America accept Mexican pesos or Euros and GBP??

Getting pesos from an atm is a good option, yet don't exchange too much. You don't want to have a lot of pesos left over when youcome back. You won't get the same exchange rate from pesos to dollars.|||No...bring your ATM card and use the machines to get out pesos as needed. You get the best exchange rate from the ATM's.|||I always use the ATMs, do NOT travel with mucho $US. We stay for 3 months, just make sure your card does not expire during your vacation!|||Just got back from Puerto Vallarta, there they preferred USD. Hope it helps!
