There are many people struggling to survive on less than half of that income for a year.
Just budget your bills and don't overspend, and with a few investments of your choice, you should be able to live quite comfortably.
Try to keep you mortgage as low as possible, a lot of financial advisers recommend 1/4 of your income as the ideal, although some people will spend 1/3 of their income.

If you lived in Texas or Florida, there is no state income tax so you'll have a lot more money left over to buy a home or pay for other expenses.
